CHAPTER 7
Jamie jumped happily down the stairs.
Today the show was gonna take them to the zoo. He couldn’t wait to wonder around in the zoo with Bill. Okay, they wouldn’t actually go alone. 10 girls and a camera crew would be surrounding them, so they couldn’t show any display of affection, but Jamie couldn’t care less. Ever since last evening he was walking in clouds.
Nothing could ruin his good mood! Nothing.
Even when he discovered this morning that Bill had all ready gone down to eat breakfast without him. It was not like, they had to go down together or anything.
Bill was probably just hungry.
So when Jamie entered the breakfast area and saw Bill laughing and talking to the girls he didn’t feel jealous or anything. He just felt happy at seeing Bill.

“Good morning” he happily chirped before plopping down on a free chair across from Bill. He smiled at the black haired boy but Bill was to busy talking to Karolien next to him to notice.

Oh well, they couldn’t be too obvious. That’s probably why Bill chose not to answer. So Jamie decided to talk a bit to the girl next to him.

“Hey, so, exited about today?”

Cheyenne shrugged, “I have no idea what we are going to do. But yeah, I guess…”

“Oh” talk about morning mood.

He poured milk in his bowl of cornflakes and started eating, when he suddenly noticed Bill sneaking glances at him. A cheeky thought entered his mind. He should tease Bill a bit. So he softly nudged Bill under the table with his food. He got rid of his slippers and softly slit his feed up Bill’s leg.
The boy across him choked in his cereal and started coughing extremely.

“Are you okay?” Karolien asked concerned when Bill finally caught some breath again.

“Yeah,” He shot a terrified look at Jamie, “euh, I’m going to get ready.” And with that he left the table in a hurry.

When Jamie entered the room 15 minutes later to get dressed too, Bill was already done and ready to leave.

“Hey”, Jamie chirped still happy.

“Euh, hay, I’m going down”

“What, why?” Jamie asked a bit taken aback. He had hoped for a bit private time with Bill. They still had some talking to do. He hoped Bill was on the same page as he was. After the pizza last night Bill had gone to sleep, saying he was tired.

“Why should I stay here? It’s not like I have any interest watching you get changed” he answered rudely before heading at the door.

“But, I thought-“

“Well, you thought wrong. I’m sorry if I made you hope things that are not there, okay, last night was a mistake.” With that Bill walked out of the door and went downstairs.

It was a lie of course. He didn’t feel of last night as a mistake. Heck, the only reason he said he was tired after eating the pizza was because he didn’t trust himself with Jamie. He was sure if he’d let his feelings take over he would have fucked the other boy at the couch they had been kissing in before.
But this morning things seemed to have come down on him. He realised he was in a freaking dating show. He was supposed to be single! And straight.

A half hour later Jamie entered the living room were Bill and the girls were waiting. He didn’t look his best, but at the moment he couldn’t care less. It wasn’t like he was going to be filmed anyway.

“Hey,” he gathered the attention around him, “so today, we are going on our first trip. It is the zoo” he could here the girls starting to talk excitedly “But that’s not all. In the zoo, some sort of ‘game’ is organised in which y’all have to participate. The winner gets an exclusive dinner with…” he couldn’t say his name out loud. He just couldn’t. “Our bachelor here. So good luck! Follow me to the cars.”

He leaved the building with the others following close behind him.

“Hey,” he heard some girl whisper next to him.

“What?” was the reply, a bit harder then he intended.

“Are you okay?”

“Sure, why not?” he still didn’t look at the girl, but his voice was a bit softer this time.
“Just, it looks like you have been crying…”

He looked at the girl abruptly, it was Ilaria, “is it that obvious?” he asked, tears all ready shining through his eyes.

“Oh, don’t worry, most girls were to busy swooning over Bill to notice.”

He sniffled and stepped into the limousine that was waiting for them. Ilaria sat down next to him and continued watching him “you want to talk about it?”

Jamie just shook his head. He felt so silly crying about this. Like he was some stupid 14 year old and had just been dumped by his first boyfriend. And Bill wasn’t even that. They just kissed, once. He obviously had read to much into it.

They arrived at the zoo not much later and there the filming begun. So Jamie stayed out of sight most of the time and out of reach for the camera. Which also meant he wasn’t too close to Bill or any from the girls most of the time.

It hurt him seeing Bill fool around, talking and laughing with all those beautiful girls. But then again, that’s what this was all about. He should have known last night was nothing more then being curious from Bill’s side. But it didn’t make his heart ache less.

Around noon, when the cameras were turned off for a good half hour because of lunch break, Ilaria came sit next to him again.


“Are you feeling better all ready?”

He just shrugged as a response

“I, If you want to talk, I’m a good listener.” She smiled at him, “I won’t tell anyone, okay?”

Jamie just shook his head. “It’s stupid”

“Nothing is stupid in love” she said so quiet that only Jamie could hear.

“What?” his eyes widened.

“You heard me,” she smiled at him, “so, am I right? Is this about Bill?”

“How on earth do you go from ‘me crying’ to ‘love’ and then to ‘Bill’?” he questioned.

“The way you looked at him this morning. And the looks you are giving him when you think no one is watching. And the way he stares at you when he thinks nobody is watching. Most girls are too busy swooning over him to notice, so you don’t have to worry about it” she winked slyly repeating the words of this morning.

“Well, you are wrong about the last part.”

She looked at him puzzlingly.

“Bill doesn’t look at me! He thinks I’m a mistake”

“What?”

“Last night HE kissed ME. And this morning he tells me it’s a mistake. That I am nothing to him!”

“Hush, It’s not because they didn’t notice, they won’t hear.”

Jamie lowered his voice again “so he probably wasn’t’ looking at me!”

“Oh of course he was, you ass!”

“What?” his eyes widened

“He’s in denial!”

“What?” he repeated.

“He’s in denial. I mean, it’s only logical. Until he met you he figured he was totally straight. Then he meets you and he gets confused because he likes you in a more then friendly way. He decides to kiss you, but then, after liking it freaks out about it and denies it!”

“You think?”

She could hear the hope in his voice, “I’m sure! Tonight try to talk to him about it! Kiss the air out of him if it’s necessary. He won’t mind!” she winked at him, “But I have to get going, the game is waiting for me!” she gave him a pat on his knee and off she was.

Jamie wondered whether she was right. It did seem to make sense. Maybe he should try to talk to Bill tonight. After dinner ‘cause Bill was going to go to dinner with whomever won the stupid game of giant goose. He could not help but feel some jealousy, and wished he could have participated in the game.

In the end it was Charlotte who won the game and got the desired diner with our rock god.
Jamie, who was supposed to be Bill’s right hand, got the joy of watching the young couple dinner with the camera crew. In case Bill needed him for anything.

He sighed when that evening he was waiting downstairs with Bill and the crew for Charlotte to come. She was already getting ready for hours!

Finally, the girl came down the stairs and they could get going. She kept sending girly smiles at Bill at blinked her eyes furiously.

Jamie felt like he would get sick if he had to watch this scenario the whole evening.

Once arrived in the small restaurant things didn’t get a lot better. She kept squealing and giggling at the most random things. Jamie could see it started to annoy Bill too.


Oh, how it annoyed Bill! The singer thought he might die of boredom and sickness. Charlotte had done nothing the whole evening except for battering her eyelashes at him, giggling at stupid remarks he made and smile at him.

Last night had been so much better. He remembered how heavenly Jamie’s lips felt and how perfect the other boy had felt underneath him. He just wanted to forget about this whole show and kiss the air out of him here and now.

Bu that was impossible. He had already made up his mind about that. Impossible.

When he snapped up from his thoughts he saw Charlotte still staring at him with this adoration in her eyes. He needed a break for some minutes! So he mumbled something about going to the bathroom and being right back.

Maybe if he skipped dessert they could go back earlier. Yeah, that would be a good idea.
But when he got back at the table he noticed that wouldn’t be necessary. Jamie was sitting at the table next to Charlotte, who seemed to be sick.
His arm was around the girl and he smiled apologetically at Bill.

“I’m sorry, but I think we have to cut this short, she isn’t feeling well”

Bill nodded and continued to stare at Jamie’s arm supporting the girl while they got up from the table. It almost made him wish he was the one feeling sick.
Almost!

“Can you get to your room?” Jamie asked the girl worriedly.

She nodded miserably while he saw Ilaria skip down the stairs.

“Oh, are you sick?” she asked concerned at Charlotte, who nodded, “Let me help you!”

She took the girl from Jamie and winked at him.

The boy’s eyes widened, what the hell did she do?
