Bill picked up his phone: “Hello,”
“Hey Bill, it’s me”
“Hay Tommi! Back from the doctor?”
“Yes,” Tom replied happily, Bill could feel him smile on the other side.
“And…”
“Well, it’s a very nice gynaecologist. It’s a young women, named Lys. She’s nice. We have to come back in 4 weeks, for regular check up and stuff.”
“And the baby?”
“The baby is healthy, the tests she did were okay, so yeah… everything is fine so far!”
“I’m so glad!” Bill said, and he knew his twin felt the same.
“Yeah me too,” while Tom said this he gently squeezed Jess’s hand, who was sitting next to him in the car. They were on their way to the hotel again. Jill wanted to sleep, she was pretty exhausted, and he and Jess would have some alone-time.
“And…”
“And what?” Tom was just teasing his brother, he knew what Bill meant.
“Don’t give me that crap, Tom!” Bill smiled, “I know you understand what I mean! Just, tell me!”
“What if I don’t want to tell…”
“You can’t see it, little brother, but I’m raising my eyebrow! Like you could hold anything that big from me!”
Bill heard Tom sigh and grinned satisfied. He had won, Tom would tell him.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right… okay then, it’s a girl”
“IIIIIIIIIIIII!” Tom made a face, Bill was a bit exited apparently “That’s so cute, you can dress her in all these cute little dresses and I’ll take her shopping and all! Oh Tommi. I’m so happy for you guys!”
“Thanks Bill, I’m happy too!”
“So, are you going to see Jess now?”
“Jess? No, I’m not going to her now.”
“Oh,” Bill sounded disappointed, “Why not?”
“Because she and Eddy made a plan, and she’s sitting next to me. She was in the hotel already when we arrived yesterday.”
“Oh, nice.”
“Bill, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, nothing…”
“Bill…”
“I, I just thought… If you maybe saw Mandy you could ask her to call me? She’s ignoring every call and every message. And today our pictures are publicised. I just hope she’s okay.”
“I’ll ask Jess to do it, okay?”
“Yeah, thanks”
“Bill, it’ll be okay” Tom reassured his brother.
“Yeah,” Bill sighed.
“Well, I’ve got to go now… are you going to be okay?”
“Yes, of course. Go! Have fun!”
“Okay, bye!”
“Bye”
